This system is so bizarre?? Why is BART paying for access to SFO??? SFO should be paying for access to BART.In what world does public transit have to pay rents to airportshttps://www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/sfo-bart-fees-22204023.php

@dev > San Francisco Airport Commission built the station for $200 million, and has leased it to BART since the facility opened in 2023.if I built something for 200 million, I'd like some RTO as well :shrugz:

Nothing about Bay Area transit model makes sense, why are there a million agencies accepting a single card, why can’t we just have one metropolitan authority administering everything (I know it is likely revenue source reasons). Why is the BART board publicly elected, why are they so dependent on fare box. Why can neighborhoods just say no to having transit. If I was an outsider looking in, it would look awfully like a system designed to be inefficient and generally not a practical option.

I watched the tunnel vision documentary and was struck by how BART would have been impossible if not commissioned and built in the 60s and 70s, we simply can’t afford it right now!How can we say this with a straight face when Bay Area economy is comparable to Saudi Arabia!!!
