i dunno they do it for the heat, but most of us use a lamp that makes it warm in their brooder, sot hey don't need it, my lil orpingtons used to cuddle together under the heat lamp, it was in one corner of my brooder and the rest wasn't covered by it so they could move out if they got too warm it worked well enough.

when I got out of the hospital when I had keitoasatosis with a BS of 1100 yes that high. They sent me dinners in the mail for a month. Those where nice until I realized this was only temporary and shit was uber expensive.
