I kind of think of people who are interested in vertebrates as being a little basic. Oh you like wolves? Bunnies? ... meh get on my level. Check out the arthropods. I'm trying to be better about this.I have discovered that sponge people think of *me* as basic in the same way when I talk about ants. "what does it need to have legs and a head or you can't relate to it? girl... get on my level." *pushes self through strainer and reforms on a coral reef*

@futurebird Justice for the less-known phyla! Check out the priapulids! Why even have a head if you can't even turn it inside-out to feed with it?

@futurebird this reminded me that I bookmarked something that I suspect will be extremely relevant to your interests (if you don’t already have one / several)… Full Size Ant Insect Soft Stuff Plush Toy https://www.gagebeasleyshop.com/products/full-size-ant?_pos=1&_sid=6e04c9c50&_ss=r I’m greatly amused by their use of ā€œfull sizeā€ – I look forward to them releasing a ā€œlargeā€ version… 😲

@papa @itgrrl That's a cute one!I have four of these and you can choose the colors... rare true handmade etsy item. The seller is nice. Ask for a magnet inside because then you can stick them to the wall next to your desk at work...https://www.etsy.com/listing/1759915664/ant-plush-handmade-minky-bug-plushie
