Hi everyone. I need to get a rough sense of how many people are around #onhere (in this part of the fedi) who might be in the greater NYC region.

@futurebird Interesting research. Only about 10% for NYC, that strongly suggests that you are *not* in the Marvel universe.

@futurebird I am of the well-thought-out opinion that everyone who lives in New York should know everyone else that lives in New York. They don't have to be friends. Some can even be extremely competitive rivals bearing decades long grudges. And some can be odd couples that somehow work anyway. I think what I'm really getting at is that various television shows have set certain expectations for the city, and it should step up and live up to them.

@Quasit This is about how you perceive it? Basically I want to know roughly what percentage of people in the part of the fedi I encounter might care about local NYC news. These results are about what I expected.

@futurebird I wuz in the NYC region for 12 years ending in 1988. (Brooklyn, Manhattan, then Brooklyn again.) Of course, I knew nothing about the Fediverse back then.I didn't even start using Linux until 1998.

@futurebird You know what this means, donโt you? You can make up fanciful stories about NYC, and only you and I will know. :awesome:
