When I first started out using mu4e, I was like "Why sent emails are being shown in Inbox?" After using mu4e for years, now I love that about it. It makes reading threads so much easier!#Emacs #mu4e

@redstarfish I quite like that mu4e and notmuch are so fast and emails are easily searchable. Unfortunately my work uses Outlook and has specifically whitelisted a select few email clients (Outlook app and thunderbird). Both clients' search feature is atrocious.

@redstarfish @paniash What I do for outlook is set up a forwarding address for all your mail to land. Then you can use your outlook creds for SMTP. If it don't do SMTP it ain't a real mail server

@paniash @redstarfish >whitelisted a select few email clients?!?!?!?!?! What's logic behind policing email clients, I can see that proprietary ones can have backdoors but that would not apply or free ones?!?!?!

@Pi_rat Some people notice that they have power over you, then they abuse that power to make your life difficult. I guess they get some kind of joy out of it. If you remember, I had said our software lab has Windows machines, and I'm used to using the Workman layout. Changing the layout in GNU/Linux is super easy and you don't need superuser privileges. But, that's not the case in Windows. You need something Autohotkey[1], which is a free software by the way. So when I asked our lab's sysadmin, if I could install autohotkey so that I could change the keyboard layout, he denied. He didn't even bothered to understand my problem, or that it's free software, available for gratis etc. That's why GNU rightly has chosen the next frontier for freedom to be the freedom from the Sysadmins. I think projects like Guix and Hurd, are very important in that regard.[1] https://www.autohotkey.com/

@Pi_rat @redstarfish They claim it's for "security" reasons. Surely it's a coincidence that Microsoft has data leaks fairly often.
