If you were English or of English heritage would you pay $70 for this assuming it was of good quality? Color would probably be a bit darker too. This was just the first image I found. Also pretend there's no pocket under the coat of arms.

@john_darksoul I do not appreciate you stealing my bit but I respect the grindlooks kind of cool but I don't think it meshes well with a casual shirt like this. @WandererUber The sweaters seemed more like Harry Potter merch to me. I get wanting it to be more formal. I have a bias towards durable wear items and having stuff like that with more personality I thought might sell well and justify the price necessary for profit. I’m looking into blanks and possibly embroidered patches but $70 might be too low. Unless I sourced cheaper blanks. I could get other types of short blanks too.

@WandererUber Hoodie would be cool too. Cheaper to source as well, but flannels or chamois or can be all weather if you roll sleeves. They’re super popular right now. I was originally looking at direct embroidery prices and yea, for European coat of arms it would be like $8 per unit due to complexity and use of gold thread. Obviously not all of them though. Patches I think would be better but the look would be less clean. Would still want them to be embroidered patches and high quality though.

@WandererUber Direct embroidered looks way cleaner. That’s why the AI told me too when I asked for pros and cons. The patches would probably be the only way I could feasibly do it unless I got an embroidery service to hold my blank stock, embroider to order, then ship direct to the purchaser. I don’t know if that’s even a thing. Patches would let me just bulk order two things and combine them to order. That way might be feasible but still would cost premium clothing prices. Finding buyers would be hard. Hoodies could probably be done for $50 but the patch wouldn’t be super comfortable for lounging I think.

@WandererUber Yea but I mean I would send them like 100 shirts of different colors and sizes and when someone bought they would pull from my stock, embroider, then ship. If I was just paying 1 by 1 and shipping it to them before the customer got it that would be too much wasted time and money. And I would want to use specific blanks, so likely not the stuff they’d keep around normally.

@Labubu I appreciate that, but I think I need to research more. $70 is too high I think, but that was legitimately what I'd have to charge to do what I was thinking. Might have to aim lower. I do like the idea of integrating European heritage as an aesthetic though. And I wouldn't want to make anything poor quality.
