@branman65 I have never once felt it made Disney survive longer. Even as a kid in the early Eisner days I knew what I was looking at. He was trying that commentary angle before television broadcasts of films like "Flight of the Navigator" in what I did not understand was playing to my parents' generation in a way that echoed what I found out much later was a bad attempt to channel the casual Walt Disney-style one-sided conversation. Seeing clips of old Walt Disney's Disneyland/ and Walt Disney Presents from the 50s and 60s shows how bad Eisner was at it. Incidentally, if you want to see an 80s version of this style done much better, the Jim Henson Hour series was way better at it. It was specifically modeled after those shows Walt made and I found it delightful even though ratings were terrible because it just wasn't "exciting" enough for modern audiences, and we've only gotten worse in the 35 years since that.@SuperSnekFriend
