       It turns out that the air conditioning (a split system) doesn’t appear to pull any fresh air in. The CO2 in my office was less than good, as I sat in there this evening.

       @james that is how they work yes. the only cool/heat air in the space they are placed. No air goes in/outside the building.

       @ramonfincken @james You want an ERV.  It pulls in fresh air from outside, filters it and then runs it across a heat exchanger to make sure it comes in at the ambient temperature of the house.  They have a criss-cross design where the fresh air flows one way and the internal air cross it at 90 degrees to exchange temp.
