       @adam actually came across #chatterbox just now searching for a federated chat solution that doesn’t suck and got your September blog post. Oh boy, do I wish the About page of your mastodon didn’t say “unfinished project collector”  :phossmug:

       @adam At first I wasn’t too keen with the whole “client-to-server federation” idea but it’s growing on me. Being able to just accept an invite and tossing credentials at the server sounds good as long as moderation works (which I can imagine might be complex)!Can’t wait. Literally and figuratively. Thanks for your efforts!

Yeah, moderation will likely look like Fediverse moderation (with all its flaws), with the ability to ban remote users or instances from your instance.One additional moderation tool I am trying to add is a quarantine feature: you can mark all external users, or users from certain instances, as quarantined until a mod approves them; while quarantined they are only allowed to DM mods and bots.
