@teto@cawfee.club @kxroqi@fedinet.waltuh.cyou I use mostly Intel Arc and AMD and they both work fine, as for NVIDIA well I really don't recommend it for daily driving Linux but I've heard the drivers have improved a lot via Mesa and Nouveau recently

@maika @kxroqi ive used nvidia on linux from 2017-2022 and if the OS doesnt come with nvidia drivers preinstalled I dont even look at it. Thats why I shilled popOS for so long :popos:

@maika @kxroqi on kubuntu im pretty sure you can select "proprietary drivers" during installation process. Or just run "sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall" and then you have them too. In either case. The more steps the less likely it's good to recommend to people.

@teto@cawfee.club @kxroqi@fedinet.waltuh.cyou I dont have any nvidia GPU at hand to test but I think it was a complaint across all distros so in a way or another I believe many have managed to offer solutions to this problem. :ai_bonk:

@maika @kxroqi it's a bigger problem the more autistic the maintainer are about software licenses. Fedora would never offer a straight forward way to install nvidia drivers because their default position is "dont buy nvidia"

@teto@cawfee.club @kxroqi@fedinet.waltuh.cyou I think that's something they have to probably revisit and improve similar to Ubuntu/Kubuntu does as you've mentioned for a beginner user yeah it's a better choice.

@maika @kxroqi they have stated they will not offer this in a user-friendly way. Therefore I cant recommend fedora to the "average user" (70% nvidia)
