@Iffine You're probably right especially if verification can be skirted around easily enough by uploading easily faked shit.Sadly TS6 sucks ass and even if it didn't its licensing model applies even to self hosted instances for some reason, highly unserious alternative.

Thus, they follow a business software model instead of a consumer software one. In a way that means their problem is the inverse, they're *too* serious of an alternative. The platform requires dedication to get the best out of it. Still that means it's not the best as an alternative to a more open chatting program.

@Ronnie21093 @TopBep Well there's Matrix and its many clients (such as element), mostly designed as business software but probably serviceable. Stoat (which is a rebranding of revolt because apparently they got a C&D over the name) seems to offer a very similar formatting to discord while being entirely open source. I would bring up Rocket Chat but they've gone off the deep end and are now focused on the US military, federal governments, and cloud solutions despite being open source. It's probably usable but I seriously don't know what I'm looking at anymore. Worst case scenario, should nothing work or it all be sub par, IRC + finding a voice client still works extremely well. Tried and true for a reason.

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 @TopBep that's why I said as a contingency for regrouping. I had one discord group of friends where the og discord server got nuked. We had a steam group setup as a fallback so regrouping was relatively painless.Would not use for discussions but it is useful as a fallback.Using your steam account for speech is asking to get a bullet in your multi thousand dollar library.
