@tk same here. I use XMPP since 2012 and it works (almost) flawless for friends and family :)

@siina @tk Yeah although makes me wonder wtf I had before StartSSL and then Let's Encrypt (where it's automated so I don't think about it).Also on that side of things, it reminds me: I lost the vast majority of stuff I had on my server in something like 2018, but I had logs in the clients, so I could just re-add everyone from there.I don't think stuff like Matrix could recover from that :D

@siina @tk Might have been CACert.org close enough to self-signed but also present in good ca-certificates (at least by pre-acme standards).
