       Some people will do anything for money, or maybe they are just in dire situations. Anyway $50k to join ICE might tempt some people. Well.* It's not 50k it's 10k per year for five years. Big difference.* It is a five year *commitment* bonus. You need to work the full five years OR you must pay it back.* So if your work for 3 years then quit you owe them 30k! (money you may need for a lawyer)* The first 10k will be about $6500 after taxes.Just so everyone knows.

       @futurebird Folks who might be tempted to sign up ain't likely to pay much attention to them fiddly little details. The work is what's important, not the getting paid, or getting benefits, or whether your longed for ethnostate actually emerges.

       @futurebird It's too bad so many ICE recruits are such terrible people that not even the military wanted them. Anyone who's served knows from experience that the government doesn't pay up front, or in full.

       @futurebird and... AND ... if ICE ceases to exist before the five years are up... no bonus for anyone.  Which i suspect they are planning.  Then a relaunch under a new name if Republicans win again.  Or nothing if Democrats win
