it's kinda crazy that RAM prices are just gonna be fucked until 2028. Consumer electronics inflation is crazy. All those gay ass cost of living indicators are gonna explode because the price of TVs are gonna jump, along with everything else.

@s8n @crunklord420 They've "halted" production of all 50, 60, and 70 series GPU SKUs that you'd actually want to buy. I don't really care tbh. No consumer genuinely needs a 50-series card - my 3080 can run just about anything Mr. Tyrone the gaymer would want to play.

@Forestofenchantment @s8n I feel lucky to have bought the bottom of the used RTX 3090 chart. If I had to replace it, I'd probably have to spend more. There's just no other way to get 24GB of VRAM unless you pay double, triple for the newer gens with hardly anymore.Where is my upgrade path? It's basically non-existent. I'm gonna be living with this 3090 forever.

My RTX 4070 was 600 dollars new and now it's over 900. 64 GB of DDR4 RAM is about 500 dollars on average, was 100 or 200.Luckily, the drives I continue to buy to hold onto my archives are all mechanical and optical drives, so I haven't been hit there.
