       Ok you yellofever/weebs/bleachers/Actual Asians (the 4 of you) I have a real Asian question question: I am finally going to get a wok, I make the chingchong food a lot, should I get a cast iron wok or one of those Carbon Steel woks? I have a good gas stove top.

       If you're doing light stir fry's carbon steel makes it more responsive to temperature adjustments. Iron takes longer to adjust.

       Then I guess it comes down to how much control you want over the temp. Cast iron would probably be safer if you also do bigger stuff.

       @Goalkeeper I never just make a little bit, if that's what you mean by bigger. I made S&B Chicken Curry last night and it was 3 chicken breasts 5 tatos, 4 carrots, half an onion, 6 stalks of celery and a whole head of garlic....

       @stoner713 I recommend Japanese brands. They're great. Same with kitchen knives. They're expensive but good quality.

       I prefer cast iron, personally. Season the shit out of it with avocado oil at 250 for three + hours, and it’ll last a lifetime. My lodge cast iron is amazing. No issues over six years owning it. We have two woks, I’m pretty sure both are cast iron. One is over 100 years old.
