Structure didn’t fail, but the shitty (m4?) turnbuckle I used for the wire “trusses” in the coop gave way from snow load, heh.

@CattleBaron yes, although not portable. I've considered making something like this at some point: https://badgerwelder.com/product/m22-wire-feed-portable-welder/

@dictatordave @CattleBaron Yeah, they're not that complicated. The one I linked is I think the most well-advertised, but there are cheaper ones https://www.karnagewelder.com/products/karnage-welder-charger and way cheaper ones: https://www.offroadgorilla.com/shop/bun-trail-24-volt-trail-welderThe last one is the one I've been considering.

Trailmater on YouTube has one connected to his recovery vehicle. It's really awesome to be able to weld an axel back together on a 4x4 trail 50 miles from town. I've been eyeing welders for a bit. I should probably just pull the trigger. That xtool thing looks interesting but I need to do more research. @eriner @dictatordave @CattleBaron

@Max_Imum @eriner @CattleBaron what does trailmater use to power his, a generator? i've seen people use inverter generators for that harbor freight one and they said it worked alright

It's hooked through his truck so I assume a inverter because he leaves his truck running. I've also heard him have someone rev the engine slightly when making a big weld.@dictatordave @CattleBaron @eriner

@freemayonnaise @eriner @CattleBaron i didn't say you'd be making black iron duct vent hoods for kitchens with it, but maybe i use it to tack patch panels up on my 21 year old truck
