I will not make excuses for my absence. I had given up, not just on my art but on everything. The rise of AI contributed to it, but I was already down, and I kept being down for months. I recognize now that I was weak by choice and not for anything that was really happening, and because of this weakness I hurt people and was cut off by friends whose efforts I sabotaged. I am not seeking their forgiveness, or yours, but I'm sorry for what I've done.

@Shana I'm not really scared AI could imitate me. I'm terrified because the world is changing its opinion on art and design, thinking of them as useless accessories while goods and services degrade in quality because a machine is designing them.I am still scared, to be clear, I just realized that I shouldn't be paralyzed by my fears and that I should do the right thing. Plus, I love drawing, and a machine cannot fix that.

@Shana people are already nauseated by AI slop. Maybe that is why illustration is not dying. Plus baraag took a stance against it and I'm happy for it.
