Someone burned a lot of paper to try to kill the silver run.https://www.reddit.com/r/Wallstreetsilver/comments/1qqcwrt/76050000oz_dumped_in_15minutes_biggest_slam_ever/#silver

@Richard Can anyone hold on to the wind or catch the breeze in their hands? Silver, gold and all metals, presumably precious or not, will inevitably go up in value. One doesn't have to have divine premonition, to see this storm is coming. The only regret, should be, that lack of foresight may have prevented many from the acquiring riches before they become out of reach. However, to address your more immediate point, it is good that those who think that they know what is to be and what is to come, fail so outwardly, for all to see. They have revealed their weaknesses in so doing as well. Those fools, are indeed, mortal and to quote the bard, what fools these mere mortals be.

@techriot you hit on my main thought on silver and gold, they will eventually go up even with the occasional dip, and they aren't going to 0. So the risk is limited.

Indeed, @Richard, the only tragedy this tale could have, is one wherein, people never bought silver, gold, or whatever metal, when they were perceptively, dirt cheap.

@techriot I try to tell people, if you have money that you can spare to invest, that you don't need for 5 years, you can get into some silver or gold, because it is hard to imagine that they will not be hire then. But you can't buy with money you need for expenses, then sweat bullets watching the price every day.
