Right now I'm wondering whether my toots with the hashtag #FreeBSD are blocked on the #BSDCafe Mastodon instance as looking at this search of the tag does not show my toot ????https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/FreeBSD

@justine Could just be shoddy snac federation, apparently user actions that need to federate just get sent to *every* instance on your snac's peerlist. Probably won't be the fastest way to get things federated on a lower end VPS

It's hosted on my own server at home which is more than capable and has always worked before. Nothing has changed config wise apart from #Snac updates.

@justine Still, you probably know the response times some servers can give. I don't know how snac goes crunches through the peerlist for federation but I wouldn't be surprised if:- It's just a single thread iterating over a massive several thousand line list of domains- Some of the servers in that peerlist have sluggish response times slowing down federation as a wholeSpeculation here is hardly productive though so I guess I should tag @grunfink to see if this is true

@justine @kirby not a snac issue but definitely a local indexing issue.I'm reindexing and I can already see the posts from @justine with the FreeBSD hashtag from 23 hours ago, so it's probably catching up
