@bugthe moments it changes direction feel a bit eerie...very similar to https://apocalypseanimated.com/

@wolf480pl yeah, that's because I reconstructed keyframes from a random thing I found on the Internet (see the media), and I'm interpolating linearly. The next step is to look at the curves of the angles, and see if I can interpolate a fancy curve.

@wolf480pl actually, looking again it's because I missed the loop back interpolation. Should be better now.

@bug btw. regarding shape - I guess that'd be difficult to do in a shader but would it be possible simulate the outermost segment of each wing as an elastic body, like a series of tiny leaf springs whose (sine of) bending angle is proportional to force?

@wolf480pl in 500 chars, best I can do is probably to fake something with some motion blur 😅

@bug that was quick tho!in any case, what i wanted to say is it looks like the owl you found on the internet doesn't have bones in the outer segment, so the curve from the end of the middle segment to the tip of the wing is just a spring in the wind, and its length-wise derivative (dy/dx) is continuousidk if that'll help with anything tho

@wolf480pl this kind of motion blur is free, you just fuzz the time parameter: https://fosstodon.org/@bug/115626517923796891WRT the last segment, yeah, it's probably made of bending feathers; in the best case I can distort it (I can't afford to keep the SDF correct tho). But I'll probably choose to use the few characters I have left for something else in the composition. You can definitely improve the whole thing in many ways, but I work under constraints here 😁
