I've now installed a 4K TVI'm of course going to use it to watch letsplays of games from 1994, so the 4k aspect will go completely unused

nah I attached my HDMI splitter which downgraded it to 1080pno more 4k

@foone there is very little practical use for 4K.

@foone Just use a shader that emulates a CRT, that'll need the extra resolution.

@jernej__s lookif I want my video to look like it's on a CRT, I don't need a shader for that. I just use a CRT
