       @ArchdeaconBenito In designing an early prototype of an ultra-loud smoke alarm, I evaluated one of the bare drivers (not mounted in a horn enclosure) for those things. I'd like to see a cutaway diagram of how drivers are mounted in one of those. One thing I can tell you about them is that they are highly tuned horns, and any sticky, gooey material, like a big cup full of watered-down bread dough, that could be flung or stuffed into one would turn its volume WAY, WAY down. I know, tough to do.
