Whatever the benefit for google, it must be more beneficial for them to just pay the fines if they get caught than to not do it in the first place. They should slam them with antitrust violations, fine them to oblivion, and bust up the company. But, that would probably be halted as "a threat to national security"

@MountainStateNomad @thenewoil they probably spied for people in the gov who then sold the intel they were fedi bet they actually made way more than this 68 billion, and it was all paid for with tax thefts

@dictatordave I was thinking the same thing. A defense contract type of thing. Prob could also double up and use the data for training the AI or something in-house also. All wins, and the fine was probably figured into the deal, to some degree
