It kind of annoys me when people are shocked to discover she's intelligent. Well, in a "the cunning of evil" kind of a way. I think a lot of people assume she's not bright because she's a woman with terrible opinions *and* because of her accent. And that just annoys me. That woman has never been simple. She just lacks ... compassion and moral perspective. It's kind of sad. It also makes the things she's done worse. She knows.

@futurebird Southern White women get some of the weirdest passes imaginable. She’s terribly uneducated, but no where near stupid. And she’s the dangerous kind of woman. Other Southern white women wouldn’t walk in front of her, where their back would to her. No way.

@futurebird I consider her to be incredibly credulous. The things she believes and advances are frankly absurd things for anyone with a functioning noggin to believe, but smarter people have believed stupider things.It's just disorienting to realize that someone who's willing to believe in a faked moon landing could be otherwise capable of logical reasoning, and a little disconcerting to remember that being smart in some ways is often no obstacle to being stupid in a lot of others.
