Story concept: An early alchemist does a long complex ritual to summon a demon (so it can help him find buried treasure) but, since he's a bit of a shy, sheltered guy, he says "darn you" rather than "damn you" and "to heck" rather than "to hell" when reading The Tome. So instead of a major demon he gets a minor one. This demon can only do things likes make people's knitting get tangled and cause stubbed toes. 1/

In fact the minor demon is basically just a cat. It pretends that it doesn't know the location of any treasure. But this is a lie. The truth is it just likes living with the guy and causing minor problems. But when the alchemist become ill and needs money they minor demon decides to share its secret. @futurebird if eternal darnation is all you're willing to risk, you may not get the most powerful demon, but on the other hand, at least it can fix holes in your socks.
