ARTISTS:Have you ever worked on a drawing and it's going well, but it feels like *something* is missing? Something that could and mystery, meaning, a sense of scale, a touch of nature?The painting just isn't complete. @futurebird my grandfather collected oil paintings in his retirement and would often meet the artist at home. One of his paintings was a beautiful Scottish highland scene with a loch with a couple of noticeably out of scale ducks on it: he had persuaded the artist to add the ducks later because he thought it was missing something.

@futurebird In my first graphic design class we were given an assignment to fill 100 1inch by 2inch rectangles with as many interpretations of a theme assigned to us by the professor as we could until all the rectangles were filled up. I got "Ant". I really wish I had a photo of that right now. I got an A+. She _never_ gave A+s

@ryanprior @RobynGoodfellow same, this sounds delightful. It's why I do all of this "why not draw some ants?" posts. I just want to look at a cool drawing of some ants.
