You know, I tend to defend MHA against its more rabid haters on Fedi, but I do think it was pretty telling how the Epilogue had like NONE of the notable U.A. students getting married or even dating (and it's a pretty big timeskip, so age is no longer a good explanation), arguably just as blatant a case of Western brainrot (in this case Career over Family) as the miscegenation and the two tranny characters. Contrast that with Demon Slayer's ending, which paired up pretty much ALL the surviving characters (including at least one pair that had barely interacted in the story), with ZERO fag representation (unless the main villain gender bending at one point counts) and the difference becomes especially stark. Demon Slayer doesn't really feel compromised by Western/kike subversion at all, despite tourists slandering Tanjiro as being a hippy who wants to hug demons instead of killing them.

@ChristiJunior Naruto made a big (huge) point of that too. MHA feels like a boomer anime, the only characters that matter are the ones on the screen right now.I really didn't like MHA. The main character cried too much. He was a rule following mary sue who got almost everything handed to him. The heroes had zero motivation. The villains made no sense. The plot had zero tension for at least the first 3 seasons. The only arc I kind of liked was the Yakuza arc, because finally there was a story, with an end goal, and tension. Then they immediately killed it off.

Reimu in Touhou is never going to grow up, for example, and a similar standard applies with those comics: Spider-Man will always be a struggling college-age student because that's what his story embodies. shounen doesn't have that excuse, since there is no "status quo" to be kept: Naruto will grow up and have Boruto, and Deku is going to be "the greatest hero" from day one. if MHA was just the episodic adventures and not "here's the endgame from the start but let's meander for several seasons" then it would have turned out a lot better

@Owl For the most part it's a fun Shonen series that's actually decently paced, and most of the big moments hit pretty hard. For the first two seasons I remember it actually being pretty well-liked among pseudo-/ourguys/ like E;R, as well as on Gab back when that place still had Anime Nazis rather than just Boomer Paypigs.

It's not so much the forever young mentality. It's that the story can be infinitely reset because that's the precedent. Manga is a very point A to clearly defined point B setup. You'll never see another team work on a reboot of MHA because that's not the JP industry.

Monthly Shounen can handle an ensemble casts well enough (Golden Kamuy, FMA, D Grayman)Not everyone is a superhuman like Toriyama (and even he felt the fatigue like during Android saga). The business model and editorial process is typically the issue. If you're struggling to make numbers and stay relevant, maybe a new cool character might put you in the ranks again
