The kids and I had a discussion. Wolverine has a healing factor, but to my knowledge it just accelerates normal human healing - it doesn't regenerate tissue. Part of it's side effects is to slow the aging process, so he's something like 250 years old. So . . . does he wear dentures? No way his teeth lasted that long, and human healing doesn't do squat to tooth enamel. With his penchant for cigars, he at least should have the yellowest teeth in the world.

@DaddyO In the comics he's bounced back from being reduced to a spinal cord, so it does a hell of a lot more than merely speed up regular healing.

@radraccoon @Richard I must've tapped out of reading when this stuff happened. I always thought it just accelerated his healing to super human levels. That's why when he got his hand blown off in the "Age of Apocalypse" future it didn't grow back. If he came back from being a spinal cord - that's so stupid. I thought Deadpool's was a regeneration factor and Wolverine was just a healing factor.

@DaddyO In the timelines I'm aware of, Wolverine had all his bones replaced with Adamantium. And in my mind, Teeth are Bones, so all of his teeth were replaced also.I have no sources to cite, this is just in my mind.

@Richard In my defense, I read it about a hundred years ago and never revisited it. I remember how he lost it, but if he just grows things back I don't know why it didn't grow back, regardless.I think if his regeneration factor is the same as Deadpool's, then that's just ridiculous. It only works for Deadpool because he's not a character meant to take seriously.@radraccoon

@Richard I figured as much. I remember picking up an issue at some point, much later in my life, and Wolverine was starving to death, so he ate his own bicep, which satisfied his hunger, and then his muscle grew back due to healing factor . . .and I thought to myself "someone paid this idiot money to write this stupidity."@radraccoon

@DaddyO @radraccoon yeah, i tapped out of comics in the late 90s.i HATED the storyline where wolverine lost his adamantium for like 6 years.the fucking worst storylines came out of that.also, in theory, he cant starve, if you take the healing factor to its logical ends.

@fkq1q2r2 Yeah - it's kind of crazy that they made a Jonah Hex movie with Josh Brolin and somehow it wound up stinking. One would think that was a gimmie, but they found a way to screw it up.@amerika @Richard
