@lizzy I tried neovim but didn't continueKinda sucks when you use stable distros and are used to running prehistoric software while the extension interfaces get daily hourly it seems

I used Kate for the longest time ever. If you are comfortable with it and can write stuff quickly with it, why changeCC: @dagda@netzsphaere.xyz

@lizzy hm, i had the impression that vim was more powerful than micro but idk if that’s true because i don’t really know micro.

@lizzy micro seems to follow the traditional paradigm of text editing that’s used by all(?) text editors that aren’t “vim or emacs or sussy vim clone” and is near-unusable without a mouse. going to micro from vim feels like going to Windows or KDE Plasma after i3wm to me

@lizzy@social.vlhl.dev quite frankly unless you have a good reason to learn vim or emacs don't botherthey can be very efficient once you figured it all out, but then you'll have locked yourself with that editor, and every other editor will feel weird

ive thought this before, its what moved me to emacs at one point but that editor's bindings are so hopelessly complex its impossible to do without god modeidk i just want something simpleCC: @rose@snac.pinkro.se @lizzy@social.vlhl.dev
