I was a big AVGN/Cinemassacre fan when it first came out. That channel was awesome when it wasn't about money/monetization and was just a core group of friends dicking around making videos as a creative outlet. At some point it did get kinda stale/formulaic in my opinion, but oh well. I just hope that guy made a decent living for his family since he probably made no money doing it for the first like 6 or 7 years. 🤷🏻♂️

@grizzlywhisker I mean I agree that his recent material isn't great and the excess sponsors don't help the experience either. Raycon, a sponsor AVGN features often, apparently isn't very well liked

Yeah I think it the fact that he doesn't really engage with controversy type shit made him last longer. The only time I really remember anyone trying to "cancel" him or anything was when he said he wouldn't watch or review the shitty female Ghostbusters movie because it looked terrible... But nobody actually cared because that movie did look like shit lol. I know Cinemassacre had some random controversies over the years with Mike Matei making hilarious racist comic strips or allegedly posting pictures of his dick on the Cinemassacre reddit page or something but I honestly only ever watched the videos so I never saw any of that stuff.
