@mushroom_soup There's no such thing as putting aside your emotions. Even the desire to put aside your emotions is derived from desire, which is the basis of everything human. When you strip out everything else and drill down into human nature, literally all that's ever been there and ever will be there is "I want." Everything else is lies piled on top of it. Their want is separate from your want. They want something different because they feel something different. THAT'S why this whole thing is a waste of time. It's two factions loudly lying to themselves about why what they want is the better want, coming up with elaborate wordgames to demonstrate to themselves and others why their want is the more important one. They're trying to argue you into feeling something specific that you don't feel, because they feel that feeling that is important. It's like trying to explain to a cat that batting at the laser pointer is morally wrong when instead it could be doing your taxes. Cats don't work that way.
