       @merchantHelios python package and virtual environment management is a perpetual pain in my ass and I'm not even a dev. Pip's insistence on only being used in virtual environments only makes this worse.

       @merchantHelios I have generational trauma from trying to manage the dependency hell that was trying to install ROCm and pytorcha few years ago and have never recovered. Python venvs constantly broke and had to be rebuilt because of packaging conflicts. More seriously, using pip to install smaller projects like yt-dlp does work fine. But I have a visceral reaction when pip tells me I need to start creating venvs. It makes updating that package something I have to handle separately from the rest of my system packages and I have to create bash aliases to execute the tools installed using it if I want it to be reasonable to use. Pip and venvs are supposed to be dev tools. I am not a dev and so they almost never fit my workflow.
