       Just put 2 pounds of salted pork in the fridge inside a bucket of water.I really like salted pork, but it is often way too salty. I like the pork taste and the salty but not when it only taste salt.I never thought of this solution before. Breakfast tomorrow will be interesting.Could be a new lifehack.

       @djsumdog I slice it about half an inch and fry it.Usually I ad some black pepper.Often eat it with macaroni.The leftover salty fat from the frying pan is a great taste enhancer, I pur it over the macaroni.The salted pork is already so salty that all I ever ad is black pepper. And no ketchup for this. Just pork and macaroni.

       @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare Most here just fry it really hard until it gets crispy, I never do that, I just want to slightly heat it up and get some light brown color in one side. No need to make it crispy.If done right and not to salty, it has a rather mild taste and goes good with, pasta, rice, potato, beans and eggs.

I have come to the same conclusion.But is bacon raw?I am thinking that it is smoked and other smoked meat is eaten the way it is.Perhaps bacon is too lightly smoked for it to count as fully cooked?I just view it as a cold food that U can heat if U feel like.

       @EvolLove @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare I think that is probably correct.  There's a type you'll see in the deli case that is grey which I would assume is more smoked or whatever but personally I wouldn't eat it without cooking it

       @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare @EscoffierWhen I was a kid I liked my bacon crispy. But as I got older I prefer it soft. The taste change a lot so its not only about texture.The pork taste, the bacon taste, is gone when fried to a crisp. Then it's only taste salt and smoke.

I will do just that.Then I'll buy salted pork, water it in the fridge one day and then freeze it a few days.I can do this with a few 2 pounds peaces and then just take out one at the time and put it in the fridge.I find it really easy to cook, just cut slices and fry. And it's about the cheapest meat I can buy. Beef prices are insane now.We still eat a lot of beef though.

Let it rest all day/over night -OR- stick it in a food saver bag and freeze it for whenever you want to have it (my favorite) Cut thick 1/4 in., or 1/2  Slices (your preference)Fire up the grill and grill it! It's AMAZING!!
