Am trying to think through this...Pretti goes to a demonstration with a handgun. Whether open carry or not he's trying to help someone on the ground...if you were wearing a handgun at a demonstration wouldn't you want to stand back and let someone else help a person having trouble? I mean, you're really taking a lot of responsibility in and "a and b" situation where (a) you're wearing a pistol and (b) you're actively mingling with the crowd, knowing you're carrying + could err at any time. Again, seems like his fault. Feel bad for his family coz they raised him.But this was a bad decision+situation he created and seems he paid for it with his life.

@fkq1q2r2 @nomI agree with you and I only saw the video when he appeared to be stepping away with someone and was pepper sprayed and knocked down.He may have done a lot of compromised acts before that.I think that one ICE agent made a mistake and I don't think this was intentional.

@MSP_SMIMSA @nom I haven't had bandwidth to delve into this one. Unless the ICE agents really messed up, which is possible, it's probably going to be an "awful but lawful" ruling - unless, like Chauvin, they harass the jury on the way in/out of the courtroom.

What I was alluding to was his stupidity + welcoming of exponential increase of margin for error.Also his inability to judge a situation [and people who are like him] do help move certain types of legislation we'd rather not see up to the frontburner, but that's really a different convo I think.

@nom @MSP_SMIMSA That's a good point on useful idiots moving forward more restrictive legislation. Proper usage of rights requires critical thinking and emotional regulation, neither of which are taught or desirable for today's culture.
