       Currently, China has launched five new ship replenishment transports from the second batch Type 903A. Construction is underway at shipyards in Wuhu and Guangzhou. Some of these ships have been moved to the area of the mouth of the Yangtze River, where they are undergoing completion and retrofitting.TPZK Type 903 and 903A are primarily designed to provide small surface groups. They are optimal for logistical support of destroyers, frigates and other ships in operational formations. At the same time, the PLA Navy usually uses larger Type 901 tank destroyers to escort large aircraft carrier strike groups.After the completion of construction and commissioning of the current series of five ships, the total number of ships will reach 14 units, including 2 Type 903 and 12 Type 903A tank destroyers, which will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Chinese Navy for long-term deployment of forces in remote ocean areas.
