There's something so all-pervading about our world in this current era, something so enormous that nobody can see it. We are all so used to thinking like this, that we are unaware of it. And it literally never occurs to us that there might be other ways of thinking, other ways of living. Everybody is doing it, and everybody knows that everybody thinks like this - so everybody's Theory of Mind is written in their brains using this colour of mental ink, on this colour of mental paper. It's this: Greed. We're all hypnotised into thinking that everyone is constantly motivated to try to get the most they can out of everything, at all times, in every situation. It's like a constant hunger, even when you're not hungry.Based on the fear of scarcity.Everybody is competing and scrambling to gather, grab, gain, attract, collect, hoard.Take, take, take. Me, me, me. Mine, mine, mine. We're so used to it that we don't even question it.But what if ....What if, instead, we spent most of our time and mental effort thinking and creating and conjuring ideas, around, "how much can I give? What can I put into this situation? What does this thing need? How can I give it what it needs?" What if we felt more naturally inclined to Give, than to Take?More Give, than Take. What if, when you see a flower growing, instead of thinking "I want to pluck it," your first thought is "how can I help that plant grow more flowers?" What if we weren't all selfish? What if we were all selfless?I suspect that we would all have more than we currently have. Because we would literally measure "more" in different terms.
