@twinspin6 @mirq For simple stuff like sub 100 lines of Python or dumb JS, it can do that easily. Any more complicated and you have to be somewhat vigilant. If you want it to fail and gaslight you while reinventing standards, ask it how you should URL-encode a url in Elixir. None of them I tried succeeded at that (it will tell you to use `URI.encode`). Even if you tell it that it is wrong and that it should read the documentation and the related RFC, it probably won't figure it out.

@twinspin6 @mirq To be fair, most people will also fail to realize that URI.encode doesn't do what they think it does and the documentation around it isn't ideal. The only reason why I'm not fooled by that is because I spent a considerable time figuring out how to do it properly.

@twinspin6 smarter than half my coworkers, anyway zzzThe real issue was that it was midnight and I didn't notice I accidentally replaced a string in the whole file and not on a specific range of lines btw. Claude didn't catch that, I did. Lmao

@phnt @twinspin6 @mirq try 5.2 xhigh, it is gaslight free (but also slow as molasses and expensive, so like real humans)

@lain @twinspin6 @mirq I don't think that is free yet, right? I don't have much use for llms, so paying for one is sort of a waste of money. Especially since I get a lot from Kagi.

@phnt @twinspin6 @mirq yeah, gatekept at $200 a month, but it really is on another level. Looking forward to the times when it’s possible with local llms

@lain @mirq @twinspin6 But at least good to hear that the gaslighting behavior is gone at least from one model.

@twinspin6 I'm still a novice at a lot of stuff so they've been good at helping me think outside the box a bit etcLike I don't have access to a classroom where I can raise my hand and ask, and for now llms do okay at filling that gap, mostly

@twinspin6 oh yeah I'll still go to stack overflow for specific things but if I want some insight without explicitly being told how to do a thing, claude's good at that
