@krankheit i think the blatant sexuality is offensive to me because it lacks eroticism and just comes off as like a porn plot or something. nondescript desire, like if it said they were blushing or something, seems a lot more couth than this reddit-ass direct line being drawn from desire-to-fulfillment. being able to wrap one's desire in the language of respect show one to be posessed of intelligence and consideration, without it this whole thing becomes tired

@cyb3rm0shp1t @krankheit I do think you can make talking like that work if you're self-aware about it and embrace its trashiness, but I think you put it well here. If there's no sophistication involved and one presents themselves as a completely open book, the other person doesn't really have anything to read into and the resulting game is very boring.

@krankheit @nyx that part is fine but looking at it from the perspective of 'this is a bad post' proxies your sense of embarrassment and shame with having done something wrong into a field of 'failed art'. commentary on the internet is not a 'good post' or a 'bad post'. its a good point or a bad point.for your own sake ill be thorough: if you argue with people later on it can be explained as 'im sorry, it didnt need to be said' or 'im sorry for being so antagonistic today'. whereas 'im sorry for posting shitty' explains the wrong factors to yourself. it takes the issues of concern you are actually potentially embarassed about that can be either reassured or criticized and hides them behind this 'failed narrative ideal' of yourself that causes more problems to your development than it helps.

@krankheit @nyx im taking the time to highlight this because its *exceptionally not* what anybody else in this discussion is taking issue with. for them, much like what youve accurately criticized in your original post here, my issue is a habitus that has already been so normalized nobody figured its worth bringing attention to. however I really do think perceiving our capacities as trying to be 'militantly good posters' is genuinely stunting us and at the same time causing us to often overreach out more performative side in ways that aimlessly alienate. the 'poster' is a deplorable assumption I want to see entirely abolished. youre just talking, im just talking. if you want to be descriptive you could call what I'm doing right now 'scolding' or 'soapboxxing'. but please for fucks sake don't call it an 'random essaypost' or a 'great ventpost'. its just words!!!we need to think of ourselves more as social entities making social mistakes. not 'stories' that are 'failing to make themselves artful' and im really quite serious about that.
