       @hexman Troons made me avoid Linux, and the school system actively denied me from taking any computer classes when it would have been easiest to learn C or ASM.

       @BrokenSword same experience. I learned C and then Linux by myself, and always had a deep fascination for both. ❤️‍🔥I guess we have to stop comparing ourselves to others and just race against our own skills from the last month.(Now you can ask stuff to a LLM even if you don't have a good who is good with this stuff!)If I may give you a recommendation:- Check your Golang and OpenCode- Be conservative with stable stuff that's not new because any new shiny tech it's most probably just MARKETING- And stay away from rust, Apple ecosystem, and any skills that is not future proof(i.e.: don't learn Photoshop, or I should say don't learn the Photoshop menu: that is not a real skill but just a menu created by Adobe)I hope that's somehow useful/helpful 👍

       @hexman New skills have been off the table for me for years. I remember when Ronald Reagan took office. The last thing I went all in on was firearms, so writing copies of Windows applications that have no existing open source duplications is never going to happen. I've forgotten most of the electronic engineering stuff I learned in college simply from lack of use. Why design something that some slave pit in a 3M basement already did a year before you and has already put to market? Hell, anything made for classic gaming gets copied by China immediately.

       @BrokenSword I agree you're right about everything, BUT,it's a hobby.That means it doesn't have to make money or make sense, people learn an instrument just because it brings them joy and that's all, it's a pleasant waste of time when you're alone and it rains outside. Like playing with the PlayStation.

       @hexman In case I didn't make it perfectly clear, learning new skills becomes exponentially more difficult with age, and the skills I had spent years learning became useless, or are only useful when everything falls apart and the blood is ankle deep.
