@mac_ack @gray do they have bbq at trader joes?I mean Im down but this is DC so most people are going to be in apartments. Most of the time you can't really bbq unless you have a sizable porch and a building that allows it.

@ins0mniak Always have a steady supply of shit in case I really don't want to go to the groceries. I bought a freezer exactly so I can go to Costco with Dad and purchase like 500$ of meat right on the spot. That makes all the subsequent groceries run much lighter and cheaper tooIt's going to get quite cold here, but ehh, it's Canada, it happens every year

@ins0mniak Yeah man, I buy these 50$ fishes and then you discover that the damn fish is folded in the package, it's insaneI save a bit on the massive amount of ground meat tooEven the frozen stuff is insane. In the grocery stores here, the breaded fishes are like 15-20$~ for like 6? It's not fucking worth it. At Costco you get like 40 for that price

We moved our regular grocery run for fresh stuff to Tuesday instead of Saturday but we keep enough supplies around just in case. I don’t understand the mindset to wait until the last minute.

@ins0mniak Yes. We always stock. Every year, late summer we spend 2-3 weeks running 2 canners on the garden. We live in a hovel, but it allows us a 2 acre garden since we're out in the sticks. Between the wife unit's canned good and what we have in food-grade containers/mylar we can probably hold out a couple of years. We do have a well though, so that takes tons (literally) off what we need to store.

@SilverDeth that's the way. Its a little different for me living in northern Virginia but its the same kind of thought process. Anytime I seea good deal on things at cosco or whatnot I take advantage of it so I have supplies for storms like this.
