@zephyrotv its not regional, its just idiots and they dont believe in borders. last year, i sat at walgreens parking lot in colorado. guy gets in suburban next to me. parking lot has 3 inches of hard packed snow. dude is tipped forward on incline. he spins tires. stops, spins tires. driver window rolled down, his head leaned out watching rear tire. people walking behind his car. he stays on his cycle... 1/2

@zephyrotv i get out, i wait for no people walking, i push him out. he is free, i ask him how long his 4WD has been out. it wasnt, he said he was just melting ice until he got traction to back out. @CattleBaron @zephyrotv There are a ton from the northeast in the greater CLT, and they might be just as bad if not worse than the southerners that aren't used to it. Because the NYers and such have no self-awareness - they forget the roads aren't treated and most don't know how to drive in snow/ice yet they insist on driving like assholes.We aren't even going to get single digit temps but people are stocking up (I expect power lines to go out though from the ice - but we are used to that).

@zio @zephyrotv yah, i visited new york at Christmas time once. the infrastructure they have to clean the roads is amazing, and results in people who think all parts of the road are cleared and salted.just a different kind of dangerous

@CattleBaron @zio @zephyrotv Got a new coworker years ago from around Buffalo NY who made fun of us around here in the Pittsburgh area that don’t know how to drive in the snow. He promptly got into an accident that Winter in a dew inches of snow. It’s the bad driver not the area. I’m worried for the people in the south who are going to lose power because of ice.

@RandomDeamon Yeah, the ice is the big concern. I have a flight Monday morning to Denver and I'm betting its not going to happen. My prediction is half the area around me loses power on Sunday from the ice and it will take a couple days for Duke to get all the lines back up.@CattleBaron @zephyrotv

@RandomDeamon @zio @zephyrotv that ice can get vicious in those humid areas, i cant imagine the cluster that is coming .south dakota got it a few years ago, but that was snow/rainice was on those powerlines in a tube as big around as a basketball and bigger in spots. i spoke with a lineman that worked up there. crazy

If your house collapses, it has rams to lift the armored metal top up so you can get out.These 20ft containers are aboveground. My buddy has a few buried in mounds on his Texas spread to hold explosives. You need to waterproof the outside, handle drainage, and the top may need reinforcement if you wanna go deep in the ground & walk/drive over them safely.

Even those old Atlas missile silos sold to folks as surplus have water issues in them that need to be fixed. Everything acts like a shallow well.
