@twinspin6 justturtle.listen()turtle.onkey(move_forward, "space")isn't really "learn how to listen to user input" it's "use code someone else made that listens to user input without actually learning how it works"and also, because of not knowing how it works, i also don't know how to troubleshoot it not fucking working lolif i had to guess? wayland issue. seems like a wayland issue.

@mirq that is how it works in other frameworks toothe details for gui stuff are abstracted away into events (onKeyPressed or something) because the actual reading keyboard parts or whatever woul be too much i guess

@twinspin6 guess that makes sensethat's how it was in pico-8 too but i figured that was kind of the pointit's still important to learn to use modules etc, i get that. i'm just less interested in gui stuff i suppose

@mirq it's really annoying for melike in java swing you implement an ActionListenerwhich means you have a function (method) that gets called by god knows what when you press a button with an ActionListener added to itand like that's the "logic"i tend to like writing the fun part, that is, the behavior and don't care about optics etc

@twinspin6 that makes sense, yeahand it also eventually doesn't make sense to re-write the bones of things when the bones are pre-written and available to use i think

@mirq they actually have instances of the 3dot menus where there are two of them above one anotherone of them is slightly smaller, which makes up the entire distinction between themonly tech people think about a window as "frames" where this smaller and more central symbol means there's different stuff insidezero ways to memorize where things are
