America sorely, sorely lacks certain outing establishmentsEg:1. A cafe meant for students and working professionals to grab a coffee and a pastry or sandwich and work for hours on end2. Fast food that isn't Fast Food. Or not burgers fries etc. For example in Armenia you could walk into a place and walk out with 10 lahmajoes like 5 mins later. Or go somewhere and walk away with xorovats (bbq) in lavash quickly. Shawarma booths. Bakery booths selling khachapuri and pirojkiWhere the fuck is any of this here? It doesn't exist because here is not walkable... And the walkable areas that do exist don't have this because they are incredibly expensive and small cheap businesses like that cannot surviveIt's disgusting

@mirq i mean, there are places like panera bread, which are cafe/sandwich eateries that people hang out at to work for long stretches. They tend to still require driving into town of course, but that's just the nature of U.S. infrastructure.If you want fast food that is of higher quality, there are places like firehouse subs (which is franchised, if I recall correctly) and there used to be a bunch of privately owned places before covid lockdowns forced them out of business.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_casual_restaurant for more examples

@veinglory fast casual is actually a really cool thing that I haven't really seen outside of america, but it's also not quite the same vibe. It is a nice vibe for when you want that, though But in my experience they usually don't like you setting up shop in there, maybe it depends on location?Never heard of firehouse subs but looking online it does look like the 2nd kind of place i'd mentioned. There's only like one in my state hahahaBut also, I didn't specify but I did mean non-sandwiches. Sandwiches are great but I think they're just about the only thing you can get like that here in the US. That I've seen anyway
