Starcraft had minerals and gas, mtg has cards and mana, same for Hearthstone, it's why you have HP and Mana bars, if you're managing only 1 thing, you're not managing anything.

@Goalkeeper @Xeraser @supersid333 They think counterplay is the 1-2/5 of the cards you drew in your opening hand and it's cool game design to optimize deck building for redundance and to make sure that 40% of the time you get exactly what you want. I've seen too many yugitubers and deck theory to sit down and not think, ''so clearly, you say you love the game, yet you don't ever touch competitive and in fact a lot of people don't touch the official format yet somehow you think floodgates are the problem.''

@Dicer @Xeraser @Goalkeeper I'm pretty sure Yugioh has been as popular as it is because it lacks a hard resource mechanic outside one Normal Summon. Every game being some flavor of MtG's mana mechanics has made everything so samey and boring.Also Genesys isn't perfect but it's a lot more functional of a banlist then the main one. Links make decks even more consistent then they already are and a 1 of super degenerate card is made up for by not being consistent.

@supersid333 @Xeraser @Goalkeeper I bet you can play Branded without compromising on the engine pieces. Lovely deck. Bet you can even play Red Hot Dragon Archfiend without a hitch, lovely format. What's the point of archetypes like Monarchs in the game then? Why make trap cards into trap cards, why have things be hand-traps, the interaction is never from the field and because it's only cards, going card positive on hand and board is mandatory. You call it boring that other games have mana systems, literally only MtG is popular and even it's own mana system is nothing like the ''universal mana'' that every other game has used to simplify it. Yugioh is literally playground rulings, tell me why Interrupted Kaiju Slumber can be activated even when the opponent or yourself already have a Kaiju out in the field

@Xeraser @supersid333 @Goalkeeper the one cause that i quit playing this is cause of the insane amount of decks and cards that only exist to prevent you from playing the game. sure love the cards that prevent you to use spells, traps, place minions and love the cards that are fully immune to 3-4 of the game mechanics :kitten_hehe:
