Ever driven the same car or used the same camera or power drill for 8-10 years and thought: "I wish all these buttons and levers were suddenly in different places and did different things"?Yeah. Me neither. This is a toot about operating systems.

@GiffordJames @ptoothfish ok, but I had a similar experience when Ubuntu at some point decided to look like #Windows and I had to change to #Linux Mint Xfce to find a simple UI for a boomer-minded person like me.It doesn't only happen in the Microsoft world.

@s1m0n4@ohai.social @GiffordJames@mas.to @ptoothfish@mastodon.nz have you tried Zorin its made for boomers migrating from windows, to look and act as much as windows as possible while still giving you the option to easily customize it to look like something else, its very popular among windows users switching to linux

@xaetacore @ptoothfish @GiffordJames I probably didn't explain myself correctly. About 20 years ago Ubuntu took the decision to look like the Windows of that time. I was already a #Linux user back then and that's when I decided to switch to Mint. I've been happy ever since. That's the beauty of Linux distros. There's one for every taste!
