I call every possum Jesse. They are my friends. Except for that one who crashed out in the cats’ house and refused to leave. The cats looked so confused and concerned. Like their weird cousin showed up unannounced at their house and now is sleeping on the couch.

I wouldn't recommend picking it up. If you feed them sometimes you can acclimate them to you enough to pet them, They are soft. I've had a couple over the years that got comfortable enough around me to pet them. They're just big goobers. They will hiss and act super aggressive but they'll actually normally play dead before they attack.

@CobaltSasquatch @Rose they’re pretty rare around here, I only ever saw that one and I doubt he’ll be back unless he’s freaky We also have a big tomcat that comes around sometimes, a few vultures that live in the area and clean up the 9999999999 squirrels that inevitably get fucked up on a daily basis

They manage to make big enough holes in the chicken wire to grab the chicken by the head and pull the head through, then eat the head and as much of the neck as they can. Outside my fence line, they are fine. Inside the fence line and I sic the dogs on them or shoot them.
