@TransTina@social.translunar.academy I think because it is easier to write complex programs with it than C.

@thacuber2a03@mastodon.gamedev.place @TransTina@social.translunar.academy If your project is big enough that it benefits from organizing things using features C does not have like classes and templates for some people it might make sense to prefer C++.

@SuperDicq @TransTina eh, imo classes and templates aren't really that worth it, more so now that I'm learning about how interfaces work in a lower level and I'm seeing they're not as hard as I thought; I'd be fine with C in that regardhowever, the preprocessor...

@thacuber2a03@mastodon.gamedev.place @TransTina@social.translunar.academy Yes of course it is possible to manage complex programs in C, but if you went to any comp sci university course in either the 00s or 10s you will be most likely be most familiar with OOP so I can't deny that without learning anything new C++ should be a lot easier to understand.

@SuperDicq @TransTina It's in fact harder to write anything in C++, it's just that masochists can't just use GNU C and demand OOP slop.

@SuperDicq @thacuber2a03 @TransTina Classes and templates adds complexity, rather than organizes anything. If a template or a class makes sense, you wrote it wrong.

@Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com @thacuber2a03@mastodon.gamedev.place @TransTina@social.translunar.academy I am personally not a fan of C++ either, but just because you wrote it down as a fact doesn't mean that is not entirely subjective.

@SuperDicq @thacuber2a03 @TransTina I wrote that out of experience with Classes and Factories in Java.
