       Huh. Of course gravitational lenses have caustics like any other.Imagining a gamma ray burst lensed down to a millimetre sized point, sweeping across earth superluminally. And the sky waking up as an instant curtain of brightness from the exosphere on down to the surface hangs for a moment.
