Stretched the treadmill miles a little tonight while working on maintain a comfortable pace. except for two one minute elevation climbs, 6.4mph - 7mph, 2% incline for one minute every ten minutes, with a 8% incline at 30 and 60 minutes 8 miles in 75 minutes. Minus the Bear and Casualties of Cool split the heavy lifting for the jams. 31 miles for 2026. BTW, this is legitimately one of my favorite album covers (and album). #poastgains #gnjamshttps://youtu.be/1Hh8XZKzSAg

@charliebrownau Let me know if you want to talk shoes when you get there. I've done a lot of homework in that area. Trail and road. The right pair of shoes can work miracles on heel and ankle support which can alleviate shin splint occurrences.

@charliebrownau Some of the niche brands like topo and altra work well for a flat foot because they have a wider toebox. Hoka used to be good about a wide toebox but I noticed they have gotten more narrow in the last rollout of several of their flagship styles.

@charliebrownau I personally try to stay away from inserts and "high stability" technology because I think it masks stride weakness and then your gait is not optimal for your body. High stability shoes in my experience can take stress away from the feet, but it greatly increases the stress on your knees and hips because you cant feel where your natural stride is.

@DemonSixOne @charliebrownau I run marathons in the Topo Specter, and I train in the phantom and Ultrafly. Only weakness with topo is the soles don't last as long as some other brands. I do love running in them though.

@charliebrownau I run in Altra Experience. They still gave a little drop 4mm from heel to toe) the Torin is a no drop shoe, which is great if your calves are ready for it. Most popular brands have like 6mm-12mm drop which can actually shorten the calf muscle over time. It can take a while to stretch it out to comfortably run in 0 drop.
