@Nonilex The emphasis on Judge Currie as an "out of district" federal judge seems misplaced, in that Currie was tasked by the chief judge of the 4th Circuit to determine whether Halligan's claimed status as the USA for the EDVA was valid.Currie's authority to do that was delegated to her by the chief judge. That she came from outside the jurisdiction was not related to her authority. It was intended to assure her objectivity and lack of conflicts of interest.

@Nonilex I don't get why Trump has multiple illegally appointed attorneys. He has a Senate majority, he should be able to get approval for almost anyone he chooses and there isn't a filibuster for appointments.

@Nonilex The WaPoop is normalizing again. The recent ruling in federal court made clear that Halligan's appointment as USA for the EDVA was illegal and therefore invalid. That means she was never the USA for the EDVA. She cannot be removed or replaced from a position she never had.EDVA's district court judges have already begun the process of naming a USA for the EDVA, pending Senate confirmation of a new USA.
